Together, we’ve spent almost twelve years growing alongside one another. We’ve been learning how to navigate this big, beautiful world, challenging each other, embracing our imperfections, and discovering, again and again, what it means to live well together. We are guided by a shared love of nutritious and delicious food, wild places, long walks by the ocean and through forests, meaningful conversations, conviviality, kindness, and the wonderfully unexpected moments that make life feel full.

In this exploration, we came across the word Mana while visiting French Polynesia in 2023. In many Pacific cultures, mana refers to a sacred life force — something that moves through people, places, nature and relationships, connecting the living world and shaping itself through the way we live, care and relate to one another. The word stayed with us long after we returned.

And then there is Growers. For all the growers we hope to meet along the way — those nurturing soil, food, ecosystems, communities and ideas. But also for ourselves, two people still growing, learning and slowly discovering the future we want to cultivate.

Mana Growers is our way of making space in our lives to listen more closely to what feels alive, and to explore the kind of life we want to cultivate.

For now, it means travelling for 10 months across France, Polynesia and New Zealand. Along the way, we’re spending time on organic farms through WWOOF and Workaway, getting our hands dirty, learning practical skills, and discovering different ways of growing food, caring for land and building a life around it. We hope to be inspired by our hosts, their knowledge, their experiments, their successes and their challenges, while also contributing our own time and energy along the way.

We’re also making space to walk (and run for Guillaume), read, listen, meditate, question and write. Through Mana Growers, we’re sharing these field notes, stories and reflections as a way of making sense of what we’re learning, and perhaps offering something useful or inspiring to others who are asking similar questions.

Mana Growers is our humble attempt to follow what feels deeply alive and to grow together. 🌱
